Role overview
Medilaze Surgical is expanding rapidly across New Zealand and is seeking a Technical Applications Specialist based in Auckland. This is a field-based, full-time position for someone who enjoys working in theatre settings, solving technical issues in real time, and helping clinical teams get the best out of advanced urology technologies.
Key duties
- Provide clinical support during cases at hospitals across New Zealand.
- Deliver hands-on training to theatre staff on laser systems, imaging equipment, and micro-ultrasound technology.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues involving lasers, fibres, imaging devices, and capital equipment.
- Assist with product trials and support the onboarding and credentialing of new sites.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with surgeons, nurses, and biomedical teams.
Impact of the role
In this position, you will act as the on-site specialist helping clinical teams use technologies effectively and safely. Your support contributes to better patient outcomes, smoother theatre workflows, and successful adoption of advanced urology solutions throughout New Zealand.
Technology exposure
You will be supporting equipment and platforms such as Quanta Cyber Ho Holmium:YAG lasers, ExactVu Micro-Ultrasound, and HAWK & HugeMed imaging systems.
Ideal candidate profile
The employer is looking for someone who stays composed in theatre, is technically inquisitive, enjoys teaching others, builds relationships easily, and is comfortable travelling throughout New Zealand. Experience in clinical, biomedical, or medtech environments would be an advantage, although professionalism, initiative, and strong problem-solving ability are the most important qualities.
Location and work setup
This role is based in Auckland and is full-time, with a field-based onsite working model. Travel across New Zealand is required.
