Position Overview

The London Police Service is hiring a permanent, full-time Supervisor, Procurement within the Facilities, Finance, and Fleet Division. This is an existing vacancy, and the start date is to be determined. The role is based in London, Ontario, and follows a day shift schedule from Monday to Friday.

The starting salary is $106,912, increasing to $125,107 at 30 months.

Role Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct, support, coach, and assess Procurement Unit staff while building a strong, high-performing team and using personnel effectively.

  • Track, follow up on, and resolve procurement-related operational issues.
  • Prepare, monitor, and audit budgets; analyze costs; identify savings opportunities; and support forecasting with accurate data.
  • Approve procurement-related financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Contribute to annual operating and capital budget planning and development.
  • Work with internal departments to forecast procurement requirements and align purchasing with operational and capital priorities.
  • Support internal and external audits related to procurement and assist with tangible capital asset reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, procedures, and procurement policies.
  • Perform additional duties that fit the core competencies of the position.

Requirements

  • A four-year university degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Commerce, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related discipline, plus additional specialized coursework of up to one academic year, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) designation or a comparable procurement or supply chain certification.
  • Four to five years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of the design and construction sector, including its established procurement processes, documents, and standard contracts.
  • Experience with public-sector procurement at the federal, provincial, or municipal level is considered an asset.
  • Strong judgment and problem-solving ability to develop practical, compliant, and cost-effective procurement solutions and apply policies appropriately.
