Role overview
As a westSteward or westStewardess, you will be one of the visible faces of Westbahn on board and help shape a positive travel experience for passengers through your open, approachable, and service-oriented manner. Career changers are warmly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Act as a representative of the company on the train and contribute as a central part of the onboard service team.
- Welcome passengers in a friendly, proactive way and respond to questions, requests, and concerns.
- Check and sell tickets and provide passengers with announcements and travel information.
- Offer snacks and beverages to guests during the journey.
- Help ensure that travel remains comfortable and pleasant for everyone on board.
Profile
- Previous experience dealing with customers and the ability to work independently.
- A well-groomed appearance, commitment, and strong motivation.
- Fluent German skills; English is an advantage.
- The ability to stay calm in stressful or conflict-heavy situations.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays, including overnight stays.
- Knowledge of cash handling and interest in the railway industry.
What we offer
- A four-week paid in-house basic training program with on-the-job coaching.
- Monthly gross pay of €3,426.50 for a 40-hour work week after successfully completing the basic training.
- Additional allowances, premiums, and a bonus scheme for tickets sold and scanned onboard, averaging €350 gross per month.
- 13th salary payment.
- 5 weeks of annual leave.
- Advance access to the duty roster 5 weeks before the schedule starts.
- Support for the Deutschland-Ticket.
