Solution Engineer - South Africa

Role overview

Snowflake is hiring a Solution Engineer focused on helping customers adopt the AI Data Cloud. The team is looking for someone who enjoys solving challenging customer problems, working closely with sales teams and channel partners, and contributing to large enterprise wins. The environment is fast-moving, experimental, and centered on using AI as a practical partner in day-to-day work.

In this role, you will combine commercial thinking with technical depth. You should be comfortable speaking with senior business leaders as well as technical stakeholders, and able to connect both sides of the conversation to move opportunities forward.

What you will do

• Showcase Snowflake’s product vision and technology to executives and technical teams, with emphasis on the AI Data Cloud and its capabilities.
• Work directly with prospects and customers across the sales cycle, from demonstrations and proof-of-concepts through design and implementation support.
• Help shape winning sales strategies by understanding customer needs and partnering with the account sales team and channel partners.
• Keep current on competitive and adjacent technologies, and use that knowledge to position Snowflake effectively in the market.
• Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to help improve products and strengthen go-to-market efforts.

What we are looking for

• At least 3 to 8+ years of pre-sales experience in the industry.
• Strong presentation ability and executive presence, with confidence in both formal demos and informal whiteboard sessions.
• Practical knowledge of value-based selling and structured sales methods such as MEDDPIC or MEDDIC.
• Broad experience with data platforms, analytics, and cloud technologies, including data warehousing, data lakes, and lakehouse architectures.
• Ability to explain and demonstrate enterprise use cases for Generative AI and Machine Learning.
• Working knowledge of data modeling, data governance, and data engineering best practices.
• Hands-on proficiency in Python and SQL.
• A university degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in the UAE market is preferred, ideally with current residence there.
• Arabic fluency is a strong advantage.
