Overview
WPS, part of Wates, is recruiting a Site Surveyor for its Planned Maintenance team in the Wolverhampton area. The role supports the delivery of projects for a long-established social housing client and suits someone with relevant sector experience.
Role purpose
This position combines office-based work with travel to client sites, so holding a full driving licence is essential. The main emphasis is on producing commercial outputs, controlling costs effectively, and working closely with client representatives to maintain contractual service standards while helping the business operate efficiently and profitably.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare applications, accounts, and invoices in the required format and within the required timeframe.
- Make sure all service delivery costs are correctly coded, recorded, approved, and recovered.
- Support the preparation of monthly management information and performance reports in approved internal and external formats.
- Keep commercial work in progress and debt levels as low as possible and within management targets.
- Ensure valuations are completed on time so invoices can be raised within 9 calendar days of works completion.
- Help strengthen communication between WPS and the client.
Candidate profile
The ideal person will bring financial and commercial awareness, along with a strong commitment to customer-focused service. Previous experience in a similar role and a background in social housing are preferred.
Essential skills and knowledge
You should be an effective written and verbal communicator with an understanding of legislation related to maintenance and property management.
Additional requirements
Because of the nature of the role, a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required at offer stage.
