Role overview
In this position, you will bring your software development passion into customer-facing projects and work alongside multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions. As a Python Software Engineer, you will collaborate closely with clients to design, test, and release software that addresses real business needs.
You will handle complex engineering challenges efficiently, keep your skills current through continuous learning, and exchange knowledge with colleagues while using modern tools and approaches.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support backend services mainly in Python.
- Create and connect RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Work with both relational and non-relational databases, including PostgreSQL and MongoDB/DocumentDB, and help improve performance.
- Contribute to container-based, cloud-native solutions using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Review and support CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab CI/CD and ArgoCD, including DevOps work completed by partners.
- Build straightforward frontend functionality using JavaScript/TypeScript and React/Next.js.
- Work in an Agile/Scrum setup and contribute to ongoing process and product improvements.
- Share knowledge, help guide teammates, and support the wider team in delivering effective digital solutions.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a closely related discipline.
- A strong commitment to writing high-quality code and keeping up with current technologies.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in the Python stack, plus experience in a second stack such as Java, .NET, or JavaScript.
- Solid senior-level backend development experience in Python.
- Hands-on full-stack experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, React/Next.js, HTML, and CSS.
- Good understanding of microservices, cloud-native architecture, Azure-preferred environments, and Docker.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and CI/CD platforms such as GitLab CI/CD and ArgoCD.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in globally distributed teams.
- Interest in or exposure to AI/LLM technologies such as OpenAI, Amazon Q, or Gemini is a plus.
- Prior experience with government or GovTech work is an added advantage.
