Senior Project Scheduler

Role Overview

This is a 12-month contract opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Scheduler to support technical and operational project delivery within a pharmaceutical environment in Cork. The role is suited to someone who can manage complex schedules, keep plans accurate and up to date, and bring strong discipline to portfolio-level planning across multiple initiatives.

The position requires deep hands-on expertise in Microsoft Project and a strong background in scheduling non-capital projects in pharma, biotech, manufacturing, or similarly complex technical settings. You will work closely with project leads and senior stakeholders to maintain clear timelines, track dependencies, forecast resources, and provide governance-ready reporting for the Biologics Centre of Excellence.

Core Duties

• Create, maintain, and continuously improve detailed project schedules in Microsoft Project for several technical workstreams.
• Map milestones, dependencies, deliverables, and timing from project start through to completion.
• Support Project Leads and Managers with planning, progress tracking, and schedule control activities.
• Carry out resource loading, headcount planning, and demand-versus-capacity forecasting across the portfolio.
• Prepare schedule reporting such as Actual vs Planned analysis, S-curves, and schedule compliance metrics.
• Process schedule change requests, refresh the risk register, and assess the impact of changes on delivery.
• Contribute to governance processes, stakeholder updates, and regular project status forums.

Experience and Technical Background

The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of experience managing schedules for technical or operational project portfolios. Strong capability in Microsoft Project is essential, along with experience using planning tools such as Planview.

You should be comfortable working with resource capacity models, forecasting workload, and analysing complex project interdependencies. Experience supporting operational projects in pharmaceutical, biotech, or other technical environments is highly valued.

Applicants should also be confident producing milestone tracking outputs, governance reports, and performance summaries for senior stakeholders. A PMP certification is required for this role, while Planview experience and prior biologics or pharma exposure are considered strong advantages.
