As part of its ongoing technology transformation, Azqore is modernizing its product suite, beginning with digital e-banking. The business is looking for an experienced Java engineer to help drive that shift.

Role overview

This position is focused on owning the software development lifecycle end to end, including planning, prioritization, testing, and release. The role involves building Java-based modules, validating features before launch, and helping deliver secure, reliable, and high-quality applications.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, build, and support Java applications that are performant and able to scale.
• Partner with teams across the business to shape, design, and deliver new functionality.
• Produce readable, efficient, and well-structured code aligned with established engineering standards.
• Take part in code reviews to raise quality and exchange technical knowledge with peers.
• Investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues quickly and effectively.
• Guide and support junior developers through technical leadership and mentorship.
• Help improve engineering practices, tools, and delivery methods on an ongoing basis.
• Keep pace with new technologies and market trends to ensure solutions stay modern and competitive.
• Work with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand needs and turn them into solid solutions.

Core competencies

• Bachelor’s or Master’s qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline.
• Substantial prior experience in a Senior Java Developer role or a comparable backend engineering position.
• Strong command of Java and common ecosystem tools and frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate.
• Practical experience with microservices-based systems and REST API development.
• Good understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and development best practices.
• Hands-on knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Working familiarity with Git or similar source control tools.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail for solving technical problems.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
• Comfortable working both independently and within a fast-moving team environment.
