- Run the repair handling area for unserviceable and repairable items, making sure space, turnaround, packing, and shipment safety standards are maintained.
- Track repair expenditure and control costs against budget targets, while challenging vendors to improve pricing efficiency.
- Support internal repair capability and keep close coordination with workshops, maintenance planning, procurement, and technical services to ensure smooth operations.
- Prepare business cases for expanding in-house repair capabilities in order to reduce repair time and cost.
- Work with Engineering Procurement to identify repair services without contracts or with contracts nearing expiry, and support timely negotiation and award.
- Assist in finding and evaluating new repair facilities and suppliers.
- Identify and implement opportunities to reduce cost across repair and procurement workflows.
- Coordinate closely with repair administration so parts are dispatched on time and turnaround times improve.
- Manage shipping and logistics for aircraft parts, engines, and APUs sent to suppliers for repair.
- Track scheduled component removals to ensure required parts are available on time according to MRB/AMP needs and that unserviceable items are returned promptly.
- Define KPIs for the assigned area in consultation with the line manager.
- Support team development through on-the-job training and capability building.
- Set up weekly and monthly performance review routines with repair stations to improve visibility of ongoing work and support better turnaround outcomes.
- Create a daily review process for nil-stock components and repairables so priority can be given and AOG risks are avoided.
- Circulate a daily status report for spares under repair-area processing to maintain strict control over unserviceable items.
Qualifications and experience
