Role overview

This is a 1-year contract role for a Quality Control Analyst I. In this position, you will work under close supervision to inspect, evaluate, and analyse raw materials, intermediates, and finished products. Your work will involve basic sensory, physical, and analytical testing to ensure that products meet safety rules, technical specifications, and quality standards.

Core duties

  • Carry out sensory checks for quality control, including smell-based assessments and visual checks such as colour and appearance.
  • Perform chemical measurements for quality purposes, including pH and acid value testing using wet chemistry methods like titration and saponification.
  • Measure physical properties such as specific gravity, refractive index, melting point, and flash point to assess sample characteristics.
  • Use analytical methods and equipment such as chromatography, GC-MS, infrared analysis, and ICP to determine sample composition.
  • Record test outcomes in lab books and computer systems, including SAP.
  • Log non-conformance findings and compile, summarise, and extract data for material investigations.

Education and experience

A bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as Chemistry, Biology, or a similar field is required, along with experience in chemistry or laboratory techniques. The role also calls for around 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience. Background in sensory evaluation and analytical QC is preferred.

Working conditions

You should be prepared to work a shift from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm and to handle occasional overtime when needed.

Technical knowledge

The role requires solid laboratory and QC skills. Familiarity with SAP, databases, and Microsoft Office is preferred, along with experience handling lab instruments such as weighing balances, densitometers, refractometers, moisture balances, Karl Fischer titrators, sieve testing equipment, and GC. You should also have knowledge of chemical substances, hazardous materials, and the relevant local regulations. Basic sensory evaluation ability or the potential to develop it is preferred.

Benefits

Givaudan offers an attractive benefits package, opportunities for learning and professional growth, a creative team environment, comprehensive healthcare coverage, and paid time off plus family leave.

Equal opportunity

The company welcomes people from all backgrounds and identities, including different cultures, ages, religions, disabilities, genders, and orientations, and encourages an inclusive workplace where everyone can grow and contribute.
