Role Overview
Birchwood Construction is looking for an experienced Project Estimator to join its collaborative team in Bauchi State, Nigeria. This position plays an important role in pre-construction and project management, helping set the standard for precision in high-end homebuilding.
The role is suited to someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working closely with multiple stakeholders to keep estimates, scopes, schedules, and cost data accurate and current.
Key Responsibilities
- Build comprehensive project cost estimates from drawings, specifications, and proposal documents.
- Draft clear scopes of work that match bid requirements and project plans.
- Check subcontractor and vendor quotations to ensure they are complete and correct.
- Work with architects and other stakeholders to resolve RFIs and clear up project requirements.
- Support the development and updating of project schedules, including lead times and market conditions.
- Identify and source materials to improve the accuracy of cost forecasting.
- Coordinate with Project Managers to ensure seamless handoff into execution and contract finalization.
- Keep the cost database updated with current pricing and market trends.
- Review project information and prepare reports that reveal useful industry and project insights.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or an equivalent level of experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in estimating or residential construction.
- Good knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and industry best practices.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office Suite and digital estimating tools.
- Solid understanding of project management and cost analysis principles.
