Role overview
Journalism Science Alliance is hiring an early-career Program Manager based in the United States to help coordinate and deliver programs and related cross-functional work. This full-time role supports day-to-day program administration, communication with stakeholders, tracking of progress, reporting, and ongoing improvements to processes.
What you'll do
- Help plan, organize, and carry out program activities and initiatives.
- Monitor milestones, deliverables, schedules, and key performance indicators.
- Build reports, dashboards, presentations, and routine status summaries.
- Arrange meetings, capture action points, and follow up on next steps.
- Work with teams across functions to keep program goals on track.
- Support staffing plans, scheduling, and risk monitoring.
- Keep program files, records, and governance documents organized and current.
- Watch program progress and suggest ways to improve processes.
- Assist with communication to stakeholders and required reporting.
- Contribute to special assignments and strategic projects as needed.
What we're looking for
- A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Project Management, Operations, Communications, or a similar discipline.
- 0 to 2 years of professional experience; internships, academic work, or related exposure are acceptable.
- Excellent organization and time management capabilities.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong written and verbal communication with solid interpersonal skills.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to juggle several priorities in a busy environment.
- Careful attention to detail and a proactive working style.
Preferred background
- Exposure to project coordination, program support, or operations assistance.
- Experience with tools like Jira, Asana, Monday.com, Trello, Smartsheet, or Microsoft Project.
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or other project management approaches.
- Experience creating stakeholder-facing reports and presentations.
- CAPM or another project management certification is advantageous.
