Product Designer

About the Role

We are seeking a Product Designer to define and enhance the user experience for our marketplace and subscription products. In this role, you will report directly to the Product Managers and collaborate with a senior product designer. You will be responsible for the entire design process, from initial concept and wireframing through to the final user interface delivery. Your work will involve transforming intricate workflows into user-friendly and visually appealing interfaces that reach a broad audience.

You will work closely with product and engineering teams, rapidly iterate based on performance data and user feedback, and contribute to the development of a cohesive and scalable design system.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the complete design lifecycle, encompassing research, wireframing, prototyping, and final UI delivery.
• Translate user requirements and business objectives into intuitive and aesthetically pleasing product experiences.
• Partner with product managers and engineers to define the scope and prioritize design solutions.
• Develop wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes to clearly communicate design concepts.
• Contribute to the maintenance and advancement of a unified design system for consistency and scalability.
• Champion the user's perspective while effectively balancing business needs and project deadlines.
• Implement rapid design iterations based on user analytics, customer input, and key product performance indicators.
• Produce high-fidelity visual designs and assets suitable for engineering implementation.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in Product Design, UI/UX Design, or a comparable role within a SaaS, marketplace, or product-led growth company.
• A robust portfolio demonstrating comprehensive product design experience, including both UX and visual UI aspects.
• Proficiency in contemporary design software such as Figma or similar tools.
• A solid grasp of usability principles, interaction design, and the creation of responsive layouts.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working effectively with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and leadership.
• Adaptability to a dynamic startup environment with resource constraints and a high degree of autonomy.
• Ability to work independently, take accountability for deadlines, and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
• Fluency in English.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience with two-sided marketplaces or platforms in the creator economy.
• Experience in designing marketing websites or landing pages.
• A background in graphic design, including creating marketing collateral, social media visuals, or brand identity elements.
• Familiarity with motion design, interaction design, and rapid prototyping tools.
• Basic understanding of front-end development (HTML/CSS/JS) to enhance collaboration with engineers.

• Salary: $70,000 to $75,000 CAD annually.
