Role overview
HMP Guys Marsh is hiring an Operational Support Grade (OSG) to help keep the prison operating safely and efficiently. This role sits within His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service and is suited to someone who enjoys a busy, varied environment.
The position combines administrative and physical duties. Typical work can include security checks and searches at the gate, handling deliveries, supporting visitor movement, and observing phone activity and CCTV. Some tasks involve desk-based work, while others require moving around the site, lifting, carrying, and escorting vehicles across prison grounds.

As part of a supportive team, you will contribute to the everyday running of the prison and help maintain order, safety, and smooth operations.

Pay and benefits
The salary for this role is £29,432.
Alongside base pay, the package includes 25 days of annual leave on joining, rising to 30 days after 10 years of service, calculated pro rata. You will also receive 9 days of bank, public, and privilege holidays.
