Pressman

Role Overview

The Pressman is responsible for operating laundry and pressing machinery to give linens, uniforms, and garments a neat, high-quality finish. The position focuses on maintaining cleanliness, presentation, and efficiency in all pressing work.

Key Responsibilities

• Use laundry and pressing equipment such as ironers, steamers, and presses.
• Check linens, uniforms, and garments to ensure they are clean and in good condition.
• Press and finish items to the required presentation standards.
• Remove wrinkles, creases, and other fabric flaws using suitable pressing methods.
• Handle and store finished items correctly after pressing.
• Maintain accurate logs of processed items while working efficiently.
• Track and manage pressing-related supplies, including pressing cloths and steam resources.
• Work closely with laundry and housekeeping teams to support guest requirements.
• Respond to guest questions and concerns related to pressing and laundry services.
• Keep the pressing area clean, orderly, and well maintained, including basic equipment upkeep.
• Follow environmental, health, and safety rules during all pressing operations.
• Take part in training and development to improve pressing skills.
• Carry out duties in a safe and eco-conscious way to protect guests, colleagues, and the environment.
• Comply with the company’s environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.
