Parcelforce Collection & Delivery Driver

Overview

This is a permanent full-time driving role based at Parcelforce Worldwide Preston Depot in Bamber Bridge, Preston. The position is set at 38 hours per week, with extra overtime available. Usual working hours are Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 15:06.

Compensation and pay progression

The role starts at £25,201 per year, equivalent to £12.71 per hour. After 6 months, pay increases to £27,561 per year, or £13.94 per hour. With a 38-hour week plus overtime, total earnings can reach up to £30,000 per year. Overtime is paid on weekdays and weekends.

In addition to base pay, the package includes a monthly non-pensionable pay addition worth £903.84 per year and a weekly driving allowance of £26.73.

What the job involves

You will be part of a team responsible for making sure parcels are sorted, routes are planned efficiently, and deliveries and collections are completed safely and reliably. The work covers both homes and businesses, and the service expected is friendly, dependable, and customer-focused.

Key duties

• Sort parcels and organise the most efficient delivery routes.
• Perform routine vehicle safety checks before and during work.
• Collect and deliver parcels to residential and business addresses.
• Provide a courteous, reliable service for every delivery and collection.

Requirements

• Hold a full UK manual driving licence (Category B up to 3.5t) registered at your current address.
• Have no more than 6 penalty points on your licence.
• Be able to lift and carry parcels weighing up to 30kg.
• Bring a friendly, dependable, and customer-first approach.
• Work well on your own while also contributing as a team player.
• Be looking for a secure long-term position within a growing organisation.
