Mechanical Technician

Role overview

The Rwanda Social Security Board is seeking a Mechanical Technician to help keep its buildings, mechanical assets, and support systems operating smoothly. In this position, you will contribute to both preventive and corrective maintenance so that facilities stay dependable, efficient, and safe.

What you will do

• Install, maintain, and service mechanical equipment and related systems.
• Identify faults in equipment and systems, then carry out repairs where needed.
• Work on HVAC units, air conditioners, ventilation systems, exhaust fans, water heaters, heat pumps, and automated gates and doors.
• Support scheduled maintenance activities as well as urgent repair work.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and other maintenance documents.
• Carry out inspections to check performance, condition, and safety of equipment.
• Record maintenance work, inspections, and repair actions accurately.
• Follow workplace safety rules and maintain required quality standards.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should hold a Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Domestic Mechanics, or a similar field. You should bring 1 to 5 years of relevant work experience and a solid understanding of HVAC and general mechanical systems maintenance. Basic electrical knowledge will be an advantage.
