Manager – General Accounting

Role overview

We are hiring a Manager for General Accounting to operate from Doha, Qatar. This full-time, on-site role is focused on strengthening accounting operations, treasury activities, insurance handling, audit follow-up, and team leadership within the finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Direct the accounts payable process, including supplier settlements and reconciliation work.
• Manage treasury collections, maintain banking relationships, and oversee payment execution.
• Administer insurance coverage for non-employees, including premium processing and policy review.
• Ensure audit preparedness and complete closure of observations raised in internal, external, and state audits.
• Spot process weaknesses, reinforce internal controls, and reduce financial exposure and risk.
• Guide, coach, and develop finance team members so they deliver strong results and remain compliant.

Requirements

• A master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline is required.
• Professional credentials such as ACCA, CPA, CA, CMA, or an equivalent qualification are preferred.
• Applicants should bring 9 to 12 years of progressive experience across general accounting, accounts payable, treasury, and audit-related work.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS/IAS, financial controls, compliance practices, and corporate governance is expected.
• The role calls for solid managerial capability, with a proven record of leading teams and working effectively with stakeholders.
• Experience in internal audit, external audit, financial controls, or compliance will be considered a strong advantage.
• Excellent communication, analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and stakeholder management skills are necessary.
