Job Description

Diversified Maintenance is seeking a Janitor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for comprehensive cleaning and upkeep of designated areas within client facilities. The specific duties may vary based on client requirements, so flexibility in performing assigned tasks according to client specifications is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning of all floor surfaces, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming.
• Adhere to established procedures for using chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and other surfaces.
• Clean and maintain restrooms, meeting rooms, corridors, and entrance areas, ensuring they are consistently monitored and kept in order.
• Collect and dispose of trash from receptacles, utilizing compactors for appropriate materials.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using suitable cleaning agents and tools.
• Address carpet spots and stains, and assist with carpet extraction and shampooing processes.
• Ensure that paper products and sanitary supplies are consistently replenished.
• Follow the established housekeeping schedule diligently.
• Operate heavy cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, backpack vacuums, and buffers as needed.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned to meet the scope of work or client needs.

Qualifications

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or have at least six months of experience in a janitorial capacity.
• On-the-job training will be provided.
• Demonstrate a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to follow instructions accurately and effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in cleaning or janitorial roles is advantageous.
• Familiarity with standard custodial practices and commercial cleaning benchmarks.
• Knowledge of floor care techniques, including buffing and waxing.
• Experience with industrial cleaning or facility maintenance operations.
