About the Role
This remote contract opportunity is with Mercor, a company that connects top creative and technical professionals with AI research labs. The organization is based in San Francisco and is backed by Benchmark, General Catalyst, Peter Thiel, Adam D'Angelo, Larry Summers, and Jack Dorsey.
Role Overview
The position focuses on Surveying & GIS work related to visual document understanding. The assignment is intended for someone who can assess model outputs, build structured evaluation tasks, and help improve AI systems through precise, domain-aware feedback.
Key Responsibilities
- Judge how accurately AI systems interpret visual documents in the Surveying & GIS space.
- Create challenging, well-defined tasks with reliable ground-truth answers and clear scoring rules.
- Review AI-produced material and adjust it so it stays consistent with domain standards.
- Offer organized feedback that supports model training and evaluation.
- Partner with subject matter experts to keep datasets aligned, accurate, and useful.
- Work on your own schedule, independently and asynchronously, while meeting deadlines and contributing to model improvement.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Surveying & GIS is required.
- Prior experience evaluating AI models is needed.
- You should be able to design objective rubrics and produce ground-truth outputs.
Compensation and Commitment
The role pays $50 per hour and requires a commitment of 15 to 20 hours each week.
