Role overview
CivilandScape is hiring an experienced general labourer with a background in landscaping, civil works, or a related field. The position involves supporting a variety of projects across Sydney, including inner-city locations and outer suburbs, ranging from premium residential sites to large commercial developments in the city centre. The company is seeking someone who is capable, professional in appearance, reliable, and ready to start immediately.
What the role requires
- You should be able to work neatly and professionally, especially when dealing with clients or members of the public.
- You must be efficient, dependable, and comfortable completing tasks on your own without close supervision.
- Strong communication skills are important for working with both the internal team and clients.
Daily and weekly duties
- Support foremen, tradespeople, and other team members with day-to-day site tasks.
- Keep work areas clear by removing debris and construction waste.
- Assist with building walkways, patios, walls, fences, decks, posts, and similar structures.
- Carry out digging, trenching, and land-clearing work as needed.
- Help plant and care for garden beds and lawns.
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment used for landscaping and civil projects.
- Move materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, carts, dollies, and manual carrying.
- Carry out basic preventative maintenance on tools and equipment, including inspection, cleaning, and lubrication.
- Use a range of tools and equipment such as chainsaws, jackhammers, laser levels, measuring equipment, shovels, hammers, and drills.
Eligibility and prerequisites
Applicants must have at least 3 years of relevant experience and a solid understanding of WHSE practices, with the ability to work in line with NSW WHSE requirements. A current NSW White Card is also required.
Working hours and offer
Standard hours are usually from 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday. Overtime and Saturday work may be required when needed. The annual salary will depend on experience.
