This role is with a family-run Relais & Châteaux hotel on the scenic west coast of Vancouver Island in Tofino, British Columbia. Role Overview
As Front Office Supervisor, you will support the Front Office Manager and help lead a hands-on team responsible for delivering personalized service that meets or exceeds Relais & Châteaux, AAA 4 & 5 Diamond, and Forbes standards.
Key Duties
- Provide prompt, tailored guest service that aligns with premium hospitality standards.
- Assist the Front Office Manager in overseeing team performance and daily operations.
- Act as the first point of contact for guests and team members needing immediate support, and follow through on guest concerns when needed.
- Take part in human resources activities for the Front Office department as assigned.
- Help build a positive environment that encourages learning and development among team members.
- Support the creation, rollout, tracking, and ongoing improvement of systems that manage the movement of guests, staff, and supplies through the department.
- Contribute to annual budget planning for the Front Office department.
- Ensure the front office work areas and storage spaces remain clean and in proper physical condition.
- Carry out administrative tasks needed to keep the department running smoothly.

- Ability to lead by example and contribute proactively to the Front Office leadership team.
- Strong guest service orientation with a clear focus on exceeding expectations.
- Capability and interest in leading a high-performing front office team.
- Solid human resources skills.
- At least 2 years of management or supervisory experience in the front office of a high-end full-service property.
- Excellent interpersonal, spoken, and written communication skills.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, multitasking ability under pressure, and creative problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of financial statements, budgeting, scheduling, and cost control.
- Working knowledge of Maestro, PMS, Microsoft Word, Squirrel, FileMaker Pro, and Excel.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license eligibility, plus at least 2 years of clean driving experience in the applicant’s home country.
- Ability to make a 2-year commitment to the position.
Compensation
The salary offered for this position is $49,750 per year.
