Role overview

This position is focused on turning financial and operational data into clear insights that support commercial decisions, strategic planning, and deal governance. The successful candidate will build financial models, assess profitability, prepare business cases, and advise stakeholders on the financial attractiveness and risks of business opportunities. The role works closely with Deal Desk, Business Finance, and bidding teams to ensure robust evaluations, accurate reporting, and consistent approval practices. All duties must be performed in line with the company’s policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

  • Gather financial and operational inputs, including core business indicators and unified P&L information, to assess deal profitability and guide commercial decisions.
  • Create financial models to support strategic initiatives, bid submissions, investment opportunities, and commercial proposals.
  • Build detailed business cases by combining commercial, financial, operational, and technical inputs received from Deal Desk and bidding teams.
  • Assess financial viability, profitability, exposure, and expected returns for opportunities, then recommend the best course of action to stakeholders.
  • Prepare recurring reports and dashboards tracking deal consumption, approved discounts, pipeline opportunities, bid funnel performance, and financial trends.
  • Compile weekly updates covering bid management activity, financial position, progress, and key performance indicators.
  • Keep complete historical records and audit trails of closed deals to support governance, benchmarking, and future analysis.
  • Share business case conclusions and financial recommendations with bidding teams, account managers, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Work with Business Finance to review, validate, and approve business cases while staying aligned with portfolio-level financial goals.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in financial modelling methods, reporting workflows, and analytical tools to strengthen decision-making.

Experience

You should have at least 5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, financial modelling, business case preparation, and commercial finance, preferably within the telecommunications or technology sector.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is required. A master’s degree in Finance or Accounting is also noted as relevant.
