Scope of Work

A long-term Field Service Team is being assembled to support installation, commissioning, shutdown activities, maintenance, and replacement work for heavy-duty gas turbines, aeroderivative gas turbines, and centrifugal or reciprocating compressors.

The team will work continuously across international project sites in the Middle East, Asia, North, Central and South America, and Europe, contributing to critical operations in varied and demanding environments.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Carry out and supervise site installation, commissioning, regular maintenance, and major or minor inspections, including combustion, hot gas path, and major outage work on GE gas turbines and compressors.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, fluid, and operational problems using manuals, drawings, and diagnostic tools to identify the underlying cause and apply practical fixes.
• Guide craft workers, subcontractors, and client representatives during outage activities, offering technical direction on site.
• Complete precision measurements, borescope checks, and laser alignment work, and prepare detailed field service reports that clearly capture observations, actions taken, and client recommendations.
• Support outage planning by helping define the job scope, tool requirements, spare parts needs, and labor estimates.
• Follow and uphold company and customer HSE standards, including leading daily toolbox talks and completing JSAs before work begins.
• Represent the company on site and advise customers on equipment operation, maintenance planning, and performance improvement practices.

Required Competences

• Practical experience with GE gas turbines such as Frame 5, 6, 7, 9, or LM series, and/or GE or Nuovo Pignone centrifugal compressors.
• Solid knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and auxiliary systems used in turbine and compressor applications.
• Exposure to GE control systems such as Speedtronic Mark V, VI, or VIe, as well as vibration monitoring systems like Bently Nevada.
• Ability to use borescope inspection tools effectively and produce clear inspection reports.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred; extensive direct field experience may be accepted in place of formal education.

Applicants should have at least 5 years of relevant experience as a Field Service Engineer, Technical Advisor, or Millwright working with heavy rotating equipment.

Additional Information

This role is part of the Engineering sector and falls under an “Other” role classification. It is a zero-hour contract position based onsite in the Doha Metropolitan Area.

The offered monthly compensation is USD 4,500 to USD 5,500.
