Role summary

This opportunity is open only to people already employed by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. The role is for a motivated, approachable and positive Facilities Coordinator to support Facilities West across all service areas. You will work with the Facilities Management Team to help deliver smooth, effective day-to-day operations and contribute to statutory compliance across facilities services.

What the role involves

You will assist Operational Facilities Managers with staff management across acute and community facilities settings. The position includes managing attendance at work, arranging and attending sickness meetings through to the second formal stage, supporting recruitment and selection activity for facilities staff, and carrying out data entry in E-Rostering and ESR. You may also deputise for the Facilities Coordinators covering Catering, Domestics and Portering.

Working arrangement

The standard working pattern is mainly Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Occasional weekend and bank holiday work may be needed depending on service requirements. The post is based at Ysbyty Gwynedd, but work will also take place across community and acute sites within the West area, so travel between locations is essential.

About the organisation

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is North Wales’ largest health organisation, delivering primary care, community services, mental health services, acute care and elective hospital services to around 700,000 people. The organisation values equality, diversity and inclusive recruitment, and is recognised as a Disability Confident Employer. Applicants may submit their application in Welsh, and Welsh-language applications will be treated equally.

Candidate requirements

The post requires someone who can support service improvement activity and take on ad hoc projects or tasks when needed. Strong communication, customer care, confidentiality, teamwork and flexibility are important, along with good IT skills and the ability to work across multiple sites. Experience of supervision or management in a facilities or similar environment is essential, and knowledge of health and safety, employment and related legislation is advantageous.

Additional information

Successful applicants will receive recruitment correspondence by email, so the email account used on the application should be checked regularly. Full job description and person specification are available in the supporting documents or via the application system.
