Document Developer

Role overview

We are looking for a meticulous Document Developer to build and maintain mortgage document templates in a document preparation environment. The position focuses on turning detailed customer and compliance needs into working documents, including data mappings and print rules that keep outputs accurate and compliant.

The role also involves creating and updating mapping logic with simple VB.NET code, so a strong technical mindset and a structured approach to quality are important. Because these documents are tied to regulated financial processes, the work demands accuracy, accountability, and a clear sense of ownership.

Responsibilities

• Convert business, customer, and compliance requirements into technical document specifications.
• Develop and maintain mortgage-related documents within the preparation platform.
• Build data mappings and print logic to support correct document generation.
• Write simple VB.NET-based mapping logic or similar scripting where needed.
• Perform detailed unit testing on all deliverables before release.
• Validate outputs against best practices, business rules, and regulatory expectations.
• Track work carefully and maintain high standards for quality and precision.

Requirements

• Ability to read business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Hands-on experience with data merging, mapping, and business rules.
• Basic programming or scripting exposure, such as VB.NET or a similar language, or the ability to learn quickly.
• Proven ability to test work independently and confirm deliverable accuracy.
• Strong organization and problem-solving skills.
• Business-level English fluency, including good command of written English conventions.

Preferred qualifications

• Background in mortgage, lending, or financial services.
• Experience with document generation systems.
• Familiarity with SQL databases and writing queries.
