Delivery Driver

Role overview

Advance Auto Parts is hiring a full-time Delivery Driver in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. This role focuses on delivering auto parts safely and efficiently, supporting store operations, and building strong customer relationships while helping drive sales.

Key duties

• Collect, prepare, and safely deliver parts to professional customers.
• Handle returned items and cores during pickup runs.
• Distribute weekly and monthly promotional flyers and help support active sales and loyalty campaigns.
• Collect outstanding amounts from credit accounts on a daily basis.
• Develop and strengthen relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers, and share delivery-based customer insights with the CPP.
• Support upselling and cross-selling efforts to improve average transaction value.
• Help keep the store clean and organized, including floors, restrooms, facing, dusting, and the parking lot.
• Assist with general stock work such as truck unloading, back stock handling, and cycle counts.
• Stay current on inventory and new products so you can support sales conversations.
• Greet walk-in customers, understand what they need, and suggest the right parts or services.
• Take on other tasks as assigned.

• Comfort with basic arithmetic using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Flexibility to work different days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
• Confidence in engaging customers and promoting products.
• Willingness to learn new products and selling techniques.

Experience and education

Previous automotive parts experience is preferred. A high school diploma or an equivalent qualification is required. A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is mandatory.

Physical requirements

This position involves regular standing and walking, along with frequent use of hands and arms to handle items and operate tools. The job may also require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Lifting up to 50 pounds is frequent, and lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance may be required at times. The role also calls for close, distance, color, and depth vision, along with the ability to adjust focus.

Work environment

The work is mainly indoors, but some tasks may require outdoor exposure in different weather conditions, such as installing batteries and wiper blades. The environment may occasionally include moving mechanical parts, heights, chemicals, electrical shock hazards, explosives, and vibration. Noise levels are usually moderate.
