Role overview

Compensation

Drivers typically earn more than $20 per hour when wage, tips, and mileage reimbursement are combined. Tips and mileage reimbursement are paid daily, while hourly pay is issued every other Friday.

About the role

Delivery Experts may use either their own vehicle or a company-provided vehicle for deliveries. If using a company car, the driver must be at least 21 years old, have a clean driving record, and have at least 2 years of driving history. A safe driving record is essential.

The role uses technology designed to speed up safe deliveries and help drivers complete more orders efficiently. Team members can also choose schedules that fit their personal availability.

Job requirements

Applicants must be 18 or older, pass a background check, and hold a valid driver’s license with a safe driving history, subject to review of the motor vehicle report. A reliable vehicle and valid insurance are required. Strong map-reading and navigation skills are needed, along with the ability to find addresses inside the delivery area and handle challenging terrain, including multi-story buildings.

The job also calls for the ability to follow instructions, complete repetitive work, work independently and with a team, handle pressure, meet strict quality standards, deliver strong customer service, analyze and organize information, and make sound decisions.

Work environment and physical demands

Deliveries may expose drivers to changing weather conditions, temperature shifts, food odors and cornmeal dust, compact work areas, hot equipment such as ovens reaching 500 degrees or more, and sharp or moving mechanical parts.

The work includes walking, carrying, climbing, and driving. Drivers may need to move between the store, the vehicle, and the customer’s location, and may have to climb 5 or more flights of stairs during a delivery.

Other physical tasks include stooping and bending at the assembly station, repeated reaching in multiple directions, frequent hand use for pizza preparation and handling tools, and the ability to see, hear, and communicate clearly. Night, far, and depth vision are important for driving and store tasks.
