You will work with critical financial-services data to help ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency for risk management and regulatory reporting. The position supports business partners across Finance, Group Risk Management, Personal & Commercial Banking, Capital Markets, and Wealth Management.

What you'll do

  • Dig into datasets to spot trends, anomalies, and recurring patterns.
  • Develop controls that can identify and flag data quality concerns.
  • Use Agile ways of working to help automate controls with a range of tools and technologies.
  • Review business, financial, and reporting data using modern analytics tools.
  • Partner with stakeholders to clarify business needs and turn them into user stories and business requirements.

What you need to bring

  • At least 2 years of professional experience, including 2 years in analysis work within a data-intensive environment such as banking, insurance, capital markets, retail, or a similar sector.
  • A background in Science, Engineering, Business, Finance, or another analytical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong ability to assess and resolve complex data-related issues using intermediate to advanced analytical methods.
  • Hands-on SQL experience, or similar data analysis tools and packages, for querying data and carrying out different operations to uncover insights.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Careful attention to detail, plus the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred experience

  • Familiarity with data quality principles and related processes.
  • Working knowledge of banking and finance terminology and workflows.
  • Understanding of data flows and how data is processed across systems.
