Role Summary

This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in Galkayo for a Data Management Specialist. The role focuses on structuring, maintaining, and improving data quality across different systems and projects. The specialist will put data management processes into action, keep a close watch on data quality, support master data management efforts, and work with internal teams to ensure governance standards are consistently applied.

Key Duties

• Set up and follow data management procedures across projects and systems.
• Track data quality and take steps to improve accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
• Support master data management activities and maintain core data sets.
• Work with internal teams to apply data governance rules and standards.
• Create and maintain clear documentation for data definitions, workflows, and processes.
• Prepare reports and analyses that support operational and strategic decisions.
• Investigate and resolve data-related issues when they arise.
• Help design and improve data workflows, tools, and update processes.

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate should bring practical experience or strong capability in data management, master data management, governance, and quality control. Familiarity with databases, spreadsheets, and data tools such as SQL, Excel, or MDM/data quality platforms is an advantage. Strong attention to detail, organized working habits, clear documentation skills, and the ability to communicate well with both technical and non-technical stakeholders are important. A bachelor’s degree in information management, data science, computer science, statistics, or a closely related field is preferred, though equivalent hands-on experience may also be considered.
