Role overview

AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for planning, building, delivering, and running the worldwide infrastructure that powers AWS. The team supports AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling systems that keep customer services available at scale. This role sits within that environment and contributes to maintaining high standards of physical safety and security across data center operations.

You will be part of a varied group that includes software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security professionals, operations managers, and other critical functions. What this role involves

The selected candidate will assist the Data Center Physical Security team in applying AWS security policies and procedures across one or more AWS data centers. The position also supports physical security operations, audit and testing activities, the Contract Guard Force, contractors, and other stakeholders working within the data center.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily security activities for assigned data center locations under the direction of an experienced manager.
• Review vendor performance against agreed work orders, monitor delivery of services, and escalate any required corrective actions to senior team members.
• Support vendors working inside the data center environment.
• Carry out inspections, audits, and reviews within the assigned area and confirm alignment with AWS security standards and policy requirements.
• Handle media security requirements for the data center.
• Join recurring discussions with vendors, data center operations, and other partner teams to maintain consistent operations.
• Communicate security policies and procedures clearly to partner teams.
• Troubleshoot security devices together with the local Security System Integrator.

Qualifications and experience

Applicants should have at least 3 years of work experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. The preferred background includes experience using data to support decisions, plus practical knowledge of physical security methods such as security systems, investigation practices, contract guard management, and incident handling. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent is an added advantage.
