About the Role

We are seeking a technically adept individual with a background in sheetmetal or fabrication to join our team in Christchurch. This pivotal role serves as the interface between our workshop capabilities and our clients' requirements. It's an excellent opportunity for someone with in-depth fabrication knowledge who thrives on problem-solving, accurate BOM preparation, pricing, and providing technical guidance to customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers to thoroughly understand their technical needs and project objectives.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and concepts to develop designs suitable for manufacturing.
• Generate precise Bills of Materials (BOMs) and detailed job specifications.
• Contribute to the quoting and estimation processes.
• Offer practical advice and effective solutions related to fabrication.
• Maintain clear communication with workshop and production teams to ensure efficient project progression.

About You

• Possess at least 3 years of experience in sheetmetal or a comparable skill level acquired through a qualification in Industrial Design, Engineering, or a related field.
• Essential hands-on experience or trade background in Sheetmetal, fabrication, or welding.
• A solid understanding of manufacturing processes and various materials.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, including SolidWorks models.
• Previous experience with BOMs, estimating, or job costing is highly advantageous.
• Exhibit strong communication skills, comfortable interacting with both clients and internal staff.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solutions-oriented mindset.

Additional Information

This role is based in Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand. The position is full-time and requires onsite presence. The company values a collaborative, straightforward team environment and offers opportunities for professional growth.

Terms & Conditions

A competitive salary package ranging from $80,000 to $90,000 per annum is offered, based on a 40-hour work week. Successful candidates will engage with diverse, cutting-edge projects.
