Custodian/Janitor 1st shift

Role Overview

Alamo Group Ag Americas, LLC is hiring a Custodian/Janitor to support its team in Selma, Alabama. The company is part of the Alamo Group family and is known across North America for manufacturing rotary cutters, finishing mowers, landscape tools, and tractor-mounted implements used in agriculture. Its Selma facility has been operating for more than 70 years and is recognized for products built to perform reliably in demanding environments.

Bush Hog, RhinoAg, and Dixie Chopper are well-known brands within the agricultural and outdoor power equipment space. In this role, you will help keep the facility clean, safe, organized, and presentable for employees, visitors, and day-to-day operations.

Key Duties

• Help reinforce safety awareness through day-to-day work and participation in company meetings.
• Collect and dispose of trash and recycling.
• Clean glass, mirrors, and window surfaces.
• Remove dust from furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
• Refill essentials such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper.
• Work through assigned cleaning schedules and checklists.
• Use cleaning products and equipment safely and store them properly.
• Follow all company safety rules and procedures.
• Assist with special cleaning assignments or event-related cleanups as needed.
• Keep supply and storage areas neat and orderly.

Experience and Education

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Prior janitorial or custodial experience is helpful but not mandatory.
• Basic familiarity with cleaning methods, tools, and supplies is preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow both written and spoken instructions.
• Reliable attendance, good time management, and steady dependability are important.

Working Conditions

• This role requires standing and walking for long periods.
• You should be able to bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 25 to 50 pounds.
• Repeated motions may be part of the work.
• The position may involve dust, noise, and exposure to cleaning chemicals.
• Work is primarily indoors, with some occasional outdoor duties.
• Early mornings, evenings, weekends, or shift-based scheduling may be required depending on operational needs.
