About the Role
Abunayyan Holding is hiring an experienced Cost Estimation Engineer for its Commercial team in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. This position focuses on building precise, competitive cost models for workshop services, repairs, shutdowns, turnarounds, and maintenance work connected to rotating equipment, electric motors, rewinding, and transformers.
The role works closely with Commercial, Workshop, Procurement, and Sales teams to prepare dependable pricing, improve profitability, and strengthen business development through well-structured technical and commercial proposals.
Key Responsibilities
Cost estimation and proposal support
- Build detailed estimates, pricing sheets, and cost models for workshop repairs, maintenance work, and project-based assignments.
- Prepare costing inputs for quotations, tenders, and commercial proposals.
- Assess technical scope, drawings, and specifications to calculate project costs accurately.
- Work with Sales, Workshop, Procurement, and Service teams to gather reliable cost data.
Commercial review and cost analysis
- Review estimated costs to ensure they remain competitive and profitable.
- Track market conditions, raw material prices, labor rates, and subcontractor charges.
- Analyze costs to identify saving opportunities and operational improvements.
- Assist management in assessing commercial risks and opportunities.
Rotating equipment and workshop costing
- Prepare pricing for repair, overhaul, maintenance, and refurbishment of electric motors, transformers, pumps, generators, and other rotating equipment.
- Support costing for shutdown and turnaround projects.
- Create standardized cost templates and service pricing structures for workshop operations.
Reporting and process improvement
- Keep cost records and historical pricing data accurate and up to date.
- Use estimation methods, tools, and software to improve speed and precision.
- Help implement cost control and reporting practices.
- Contribute to continuous improvement across commercial and workshop activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience in cost estimation, commercial engineering, or project costing.
- Background in rotating equipment, motors, transformers, and industrial maintenance services.
- Experience with workshop repair costing, shutdowns, turnarounds, and service operations is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of cost estimation and cost analysis.
- Familiarity with repair costing for rotating equipment.
- Understanding of maintenance processes for motors and transformers.
- Ability to prepare commercial proposals.
- Exposure to project scheduling and cost planning.
- Knowledge of cost optimization methods.
- Experience with procurement and vendor cost evaluation.
- Hands-on use of SAP ERP.
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Microsoft Project knowledge is preferred.
