Role Summary
Geotab is hiring a Corporate Development Analyst to help shape investment strategy by identifying, evaluating, and supporting investment opportunities. This role is suited to someone with a strong interest in technology and experience in investment analysis, transaction support, and portfolio oversight.
What You Will Do
You will contribute to the creation of investment opportunities, build financial analysis to support deal decisions, assist with portfolio company oversight, and prepare reporting for leadership and the Investment Committee. The role also involves coordinating across internal teams to help achieve investment goals and measurable business outcomes.
Key Duties
- Review market trends, competitive positioning, and strategic openings to identify potential investment targets.
- Build and maintain connections with investment banks, boutique M&A advisory firms, and strategic partners to support sourcing.
- Develop investment ideas that fit Geotab’s strategic growth priorities and investment framework.
- Take part in transaction teams and own assigned workstreams under the direction of the CCDO.
- Create financial models, valuation analyses, and due diligence support materials to guide investment decisions.
- Prepare analysis, models, and reports needed for transaction and investment decisions.
- Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual corporate reporting, including materials for the Investment Committee.
- Contribute inputs for bi-weekly Geotab Investment Committee meetings.
- Support the CCDO in a Board Member or Observer capacity by reviewing portfolio company results and management forecasts.
- Manage the CCDO’s calendar, coordinate meetings, document discussions, and track follow-up actions.
- Maintain organized records of contacts, companies, and meeting notes.
- Work with internal functions such as Legal, Human Resources, Finance, Engineering, and Supply Chain to support investment outcomes.
- Track portfolio company performance and assist with ongoing value creation efforts.
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a candidate with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in investment banking, equity research, venture capital, or private equity. The ideal person will bring strong analytical capability, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
Required Experience And Skills
- 3 to 5 years of experience in investment banking, equity research, venture capital, or private equity.
- Solid background in financial modeling, valuation, and investment analysis.
- Ability to develop complex transaction and investment evaluations.
- Understanding of investment processes, deal structuring, portfolio management, and due diligence.
- Experience assessing management forecasts and reviewing financial performance across monthly, quarterly, and annual periods.
- Strong networking and relationship-building ability with banks, advisors, and strategic partners.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills, including preparation of board- and executive-level materials.
- Advanced use of Excel or Google Sheets and PowerPoint or Google Slides.
- Excellent organization, prioritization, database management, and action tracking skills.
- Comfort working cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, HR, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams.
- High attention to detail, strong critical thinking, and effective problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment while handling confidential information responsibly.

Work Model
This position follows a flexible hybrid model. Employees are supported for both in-office and virtual work, and are welcome to use the office as often as they prefer. Remote work requires a reliable internet connection of at least 50 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload. The company supports virtual collaboration through cloud applications, collaboration tools, and asynchronous workflows.
