Construction Worker

Overview

This role is for a construction worker supporting active job sites and field-based land work. The work is carried out entirely in person at the physical site; remote work is not available.

Language

English is required.

Education

A secondary school graduation certificate is required.

Experience

Applicants should have 1 year to less than 2 years of related experience.

Work Setting

• Must be open to relocation
• Relocation expenses are not paid by the employer
• Construction site environment
• Field work on land-based sites

Core Duties

• Move construction materials by loading, unloading, and transporting them as needed
• Assemble and take down concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barriers
• Prepare, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt
• Collect and stack reusable salvage materials
• Carry out routine maintenance tasks
• Control traffic around or close to the work area when required
• Keep equipment inventory up to date
• Track stored material inventory
• Monitor supply inventory
• Follow through on work orders and mark them complete

Experience and Specialization

Hands-on experience is expected with power tools, dump trucks, and equipment such as concrete vibrators, circular saws, mortar and concrete mixers, air compressors, nail guns, compactors, and hand tools.

Transportation and Travel Requirements

• A valid driver's licence is required
• Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle is required
• A driver's abstract is required
