Role Overview
Superior and its tri-venture CST are hiring a Project Estimator for a jobsite in South Bend, Indiana. The position reports to the Program Executive and focuses on field-based estimating work tied to electrical construction projects. The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $140,000, with compensation determined by factors such as market location, experience, skills, and education.
What You’ll Do
The estimator will review drawings and specifications, evaluate scope revisions, and prepare takeoffs for selected items. This role requires frequent coordination with project managers, field leadership, subcontractors, and clients so that any scope adjustments and their impacts are properly identified, recorded, and aligned with project objectives.
- Interpret contract drawings and project specifications accurately
- Examine RFIs, bulletins, and field directives to spot scope changes
- Complete quantity takeoffs using revised drawings and site conditions
- Create detailed scopes of work for change orders covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracting needs
- Assist with change order pricing using labor units, historical information, and productivity verified in the field
- Work with field teams to confirm installation methods and production rates
- Monitor and record change events from initial identification through final resolution
- Keep an organized change order log with pending, approved, and disputed items
- Prepare well-structured cost support documents for change order submissions
- Help identify schedule effects caused by scope revisions
- Assist with time-and-material tracking, including field tickets and installed quantities
- Coordinate with project management and Tri-Venture partners to keep everyone aligned

The role also calls for someone who can meet tight deadlines, adapt quickly to changing site conditions, learn new processes, and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
Experience and Technical Background
Applicants should have demonstrated experience as an Electrical Estimator in construction, contracting, or a closely related setting. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installation methods, and industry standards is required, along with proficiency in estimating tools such as Accubid, Trimble, Bluebeam, or similar software. An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related discipline is considered an advantage.
