Caretaker

Role overview

This caretaker position in Clitheroe involves early-morning site support and basic building upkeep to help ensure the premises remain safe, functional, and well maintained.

Working hours

The shift pattern runs Monday to Friday from 5:30am to 7:30am.

Main duties

• Track energy consumption and provide meter readings as required.
• Carry out routine checks on the fire system in line with the planned preventative maintenance schedule.
• Complete monthly inspections of fire doors as part of the maintenance programme.
• Log faults and repair requests and send them through the helpdesk process.
• Handle light maintenance jobs such as replacing bulbs and light strips, changing fuses and plugs, clearing blocked drains, and doing small joinery repairs.

Candidate criteria

• Applicants must already have the legal right to work in the UK.
• The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
• An IOSH certificate would be an advantage.
• Awareness of Legionella legislation is required.
• Good IT ability is needed, including confidence with Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, smartphones, and helpdesk systems.

Leave and accrual

Holiday entitlement is accrued pro rata according to the number of weeks worked.
