This project-based opportunity brings together biology expertise and Python skills to help improve AI systems for leading technology companies. The work is not a permanent job; instead, contributors join individual projects focused on testing, evaluating, and refining AI models.
What You May Work On
- Build original computational biology challenges that mirror real research workflows.
- Write problems that require Python-based solutions using tools such as NumPy, SciPy, and BioPython.
- Make sure the tasks are computationally demanding and would not be practical to solve by hand in a short time.
- Develop exercises that involve deeper reasoning in areas like bioinformatics, systems biology, and molecular modeling.
- Ground the tasks in genuine biology research questions or practical use cases.
- Check and validate answers using Python and standard computational biology libraries.
- Write clear problem statements and supply verified correct solutions.
Profile We Are Looking For
This role is suitable for biology professionals who also have Python experience and are open to part-time, non-permanent project work.
- A degree in biology or a closely related discipline.
- Python skills for numerical checking; equivalent experience with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, domain-specific tools, Stata, or another programming language is also acceptable.
- At least 2 years of professional experience, including applied, research, or teaching backgrounds.
- Hands-on experience with biological data analysis and algorithmic work.
- Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and computational techniques.
- Strong written English at C1 level or above.
How the Process Works
The typical flow is: apply, complete qualification step(s), join a project, finish assigned tasks, and receive payment.
Workload and Compensation
During active project phases, the expected commitment is around 10 to 20 hours per week. This is only an estimate and not a guaranteed workload. Contributors may earn up to the hourly equivalent of $35, depending on their pace and level of contribution. Pay can vary from one project to another based on scope, complexity, and the expertise required.
