Role overview

This position is responsible for keeping fuel records accurate for truck movements and daily odometer readings. The role also involves carrying out everyday fuel and water checks, reporting any fresh damage to the vehicle mechanic or VM manager, maintaining correct stock records for fuel stored in the bowser, supporting the refuelling process when the bowser is replenished, and moving trucks around the premises.

Key responsibilities

• Refuel all fleet vehicles assigned to Sasko.
• Record every fuel issue and ensure it is matched to the right vehicle.
• Allocate fuel according to the correct route.
• Perform daily fuel dips and submit the readings to the stock control clerk.
• Inspect oil and water levels each day and top them up when needed.
• Accept fuel deliveries from the supplier and confirm that the quantity received is correct.
• Move trucks within the yard, including feeder trucks.
• Support workshop activities when required.

Qualifications

• Matric.
• Valid driver’s licence, Code 10 required; Code 14 will be an added advantage.

This role is based in Brits, North-West, South Africa and is a full-time onsite opportunity. The vacancy focuses on accurate vehicle fuel administration, routine checks, stock control support, and yard shunting duties.
