Assistant Store Manager

Role overview

The Assistant Store Manager helps lead day-to-day store activity, supports the Store Manager with team oversight, and makes sure the location delivers a strong customer experience while meeting sales targets. In the Store Manager’s absence, this person steps in as the Manager on Duty.

Key duties

• Support the Store Manager with store operations and people management.
• Help with merchandising, replenishment, stocking, and unpacking incoming deliveries.
• Provide high-quality customer support and handle escalated concerns when needed.
• Train, guide, and coach store employees to improve performance.
• Handle cash-related tasks and complete opening and closing routines as required.
• Delegate tasks to team members and help maintain a safe, tidy store environment.
• Carry out performance reviews and share constructive feedback.
• Make sure company procedures and safety requirements are followed.
• Maintain presentation and visual merchandising standards across the store.
• Support hiring activities and ongoing performance management.

What you need to succeed

• At least 2 years of experience in retail.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory or management position.
• Availability across days, evenings, and weekends.
• Strong leadership, communication, and sound decision-making abilities.
• Comfort working in a busy environment where priorities can change quickly.
