Role Overview

This position is focused on carrying out treasury policies and strategic plans, keeping cash movement under control, delivering accurate financial updates to senior leadership, reducing exposure in cash handling and trade finance, and supporting the adoption of new treasury systems in line with Asset and Asset Management (AAM) guidelines.

Key Accountabilities

  • Oversee cash and bank balances, and communicate informed recommendations to senior finance management.
  • Review and approve point-of-sale transaction reconciliations, including overseeing automation of the process.
  • Handle the accounting for all incoming receipts.
  • Improve treasury operations and contribute to efficiency initiatives with Finance Management to increase effectiveness, protect assets, and reduce costs.
  • Work with business units to resolve operational issues and provide recommended solutions, subject to senior finance approval.
  • Make sure letters of credit and guarantees comply with the relevant legal and banking requirements.
  • Ensure all cash and bank reconciliations are completed and formally signed off.
  • Maintain strong control over banking stationery and support timely audits as directed by management.
  • Complete monthly treasury accounting and reconciliation close activities in line with set KPIs.
  • Support quarterly, half-yearly, and annual audit requirements.
  • Ensure all members of the Treasury Team follow the cashiering manual consistently.
  • Maintain control over post-dated cheque counts and cash counts across all AAM locations, and prepare the required reports.
  • Record and report all treasury-related transactions in accordance with IFRS and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Deliver treasury services to internal and external stakeholders in a way that is timely, accurate, responsive, and dependable.

Qualifications

The role calls for a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline. A master’s degree in Finance, along with ACA, FCCA, or CPA certification, is expected; CTP is preferred. Candidates should bring at least 2 to 3 years of managerial experience.
