Assets Group is hiring for a finance-focused accounting role in Doha, Qatar.

About the Role

This position is responsible for keeping financial records accurate and up to date, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, and turning accounting data into useful information for management decisions. The accountant will review data, prepare reports, and help maintain clear records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax obligations, and other financial activity within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Review, prepare, and evaluate accounting records and financial statements.
• Study business activity, patterns, expenses, income, commitments, and related financial matters.
• Set up chart-of-account structures and ensure transactions are entered into the correct accounts.
• Build and manage budgets, and produce periodic comparisons between planned and actual spending.
• Create, improve, update, and document accounting and recordkeeping systems.
• Check accounting records, statements, and other financial reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting standards and internal procedures.
• Verify that all financial reports contain accurate data.
• Assess operations, trends, costs, revenue, obligations, and commitments to forecast future income and costs or provide financial guidance.
• Make sure records and analysis present an accurate picture of the business and are available in real time.
• Maintain budget analysis and ensure actual costs are correctly compared with budgeted figures.
• Use modern computer tools to improve and document accounting systems.
• Work effectively with the assigned software to keep financial reports available in real time.
• Support HSE initiatives, join safety awareness activities, and assist with incident reporting and follow-up in line with company and IMS policies.

Requirements

• Professional qualification in Accounts and Finance or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and standard accounting practices.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Construction, Real Estate, or Retail.
• Working knowledge of financial markets and banking.
• Ability to analyze and report financial data effectively.
• Proven hands-on experience in financial management and accounting.
• ERP knowledge is required, with SAP functional skills preferred.
