Role Overview
This position is for a Welfare Assistant in Dubai, supporting school operations within an international education setting. The role focuses on safeguarding children during transport, maintaining a clean and orderly school environment, and helping create a positive day-to-day experience for pupils and staff.
Core Purpose
- Make sure children are safe and properly supervised while travelling on the bus.
- Keep the school premises consistently clean and well maintained.
Main Duties
- Serve as a bus monitor at the beginning and end of the school day, helping transport students safely to and from school.
- Support positive pupil behaviour and act as a role model in line with the school’s behaviour approach, including recognising good choices.
- Maintain cleanliness across all areas of the school.
- Protect confidentiality at all times and avoid discussing school matters outside the workplace, except with colleagues in school.
- Track stock levels and keep records of consumable items.
- Carry out any additional tasks requested by the school or regional office to support smooth daily operations.
Working Relationships
The role reports to the facilities manager and the welfare supervisor.
Working Hours
The schedule is 9 hours per day from Monday to Friday, plus 4 hours on Sunday.
Leave and Holidays
Annual leave is 30 working days with a pro-rata calculation for any incomplete year of service. The leave year runs from September to August. Leave may only be taken after successful completion of probation and only during school breaks.
