Role Overview

The Desktop Solution Architect at L3 level will shape, build, and improve large-scale Windows desktop environments for the enterprise. The position centers on secure, scalable, and automated workplace architecture, with a strong focus on user experience improvement and modernization across the Windows ecosystem.

Experience Requirement

This position calls for 10 to 15 years of experience in end-user computing, Windows desktop engineering, and enterprise workplace architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect enterprise Windows desktop platforms, including Windows 10 and Windows 11, in line with organizational standards.
• Own and drive large operating system deployment and migration initiatives using current management tools and practices.
• Build and support gold images, device configuration baselines, and automation-based workflows.
• Design endpoint management solutions with Microsoft Endpoint Manager, including Intune and SCCM/MECM, for provisioning, patching, and policy control.
• Advance modernization programs such as Autopilot, cloud-managed endpoints, and Zero Trust security models.
• Manage application packaging, application delivery, compatibility validation, and virtualization through App-V and MSIX.
• Partner with security stakeholders on endpoint protection, compliance requirements, and remediation of vulnerabilities.
• Act as an L3/L4 technical specialist for issue analysis, root-cause investigation, and performance tuning.
• Prepare architecture documents, standards, and governance materials.
• Assess and implement newer solutions such as Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, and improved UEM capabilities.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Strong command of Windows operating system architecture, registry, Group Policy, and troubleshooting methods.
• Hands-on expertise with Intune, MECM/SCCM, Autopilot, and endpoint compliance management.
• Ability to write PowerShell scripts and apply automation and configuration-as-code practices.
• Practical knowledge of desktop imaging, driver management, and application lifecycle processes.
• Understanding of Azure AD, Conditional Access, MFA, and Zero Trust principles.
• Awareness of Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365 Cloud PC, and related virtualization platforms.
• Excellent ability to document solutions, design architecture, and coordinate across teams.
• Capability to resolve escalations and serve as a subject-matter expert in EUC architecture.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft certifications such as MD-102, MS-102, AZ-104, AZ-140, or SC-series credentials.
• Experience working in large enterprise environments with 10,000 or more users.
• Exposure to ITIL practices and structured service delivery frameworks.

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Clear communication and effective stakeholder handling.
• Leadership qualities to guide projects and mentor engineering teams.
