Role overview
This position is for a Strategy & Innovation Manager within the Emerging Market business unit at Sun Pharma. The role is based at Sun House in Mumbai and focuses on market expansion, innovation planning, consumer insight synthesis, and strategic foresight for international OTC/X initiatives.

Primary responsibilities
- Drive analysis for white-space opportunities and develop business cases for expansion into new markets.
- Create market-entry plans, including go-to-market models, portfolio choices, and financial projections, while working closely with local market teams.
- Assist senior leadership with strategic planning, scenario building, and development of growth roadmaps.
- Spot unmet consumer needs, emerging white spaces, and innovation opportunities through insight-led thinking.
- Support the innovation pipeline from idea prioritization and wish-list development through to readiness for commercialization.
- Run innovation workshops, ideation sessions, and cross-functional sprint-based initiatives.
- Combine internal sales data, primary research, competitive intelligence, and consumer immersions into decision-focused outputs.
- Turn data into forward-looking insights rather than only descriptive reporting.
- Prepare dashboards, storyline narratives, and strategic recommendations for leadership.
- Build and maintain a centralized insights library across emerging markets.
- Design primary research approaches and create clear research briefs.
- Manage agency partnerships, identify suitable research partners, oversee execution end to end, and ensure deliverables are completed on time.
- Monitor consumer, competitor, and channel shifts across emerging markets and translate them into strategic implications.
- Consolidate trend analysis into foresight inputs that support future scenarios and pipeline planning.
- Convert trend and foresight work into practical guidance for strategy and innovation decisions.
Travel requirement
The position requires international travel of roughly 3 to 4 trips each year, with each trip lasting about two weeks.
Job requirements
The company is looking for candidates with an MBA in Marketing or General Management and a background in insights, consulting, or closely related roles. Strong exposure to healthcare or CPG environments is preferred.
Experience profile
Applicants should bring 6 to 8 years of total experience in core insights and/or consulting. Within that, at least 2 to 3 years should come from client-side consumer insights work in a product-led, service-led, or consulting setting.
