Role Overview
Uber Technologies, Inc. is hiring a Software Engineer for its San Francisco, California office. This is a full-time role with a reported annual pay range of $150,195 to $185,535.
Compensation and Benefits
The position is eligible for Uber’s bonus program and may include additional forms of compensation. Employees may also receive access to a range of benefits.
Key Responsibilities
The engineer will contribute to the full lifecycle of software work, including designing, building, and validating applications. The role involves using the company’s technology stack to create software, applying technical judgment to assess complex data and project details, and recommending solutions for technical challenges. The person in this role will also help strengthen business operations, improve engineering efficiency, assemble reusable software components, and address production problems affecting product and system reliability.
The role may allow telecommuting.
Education Requirement
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline is acceptable.
Technical Requirements
Applicants should be familiar with programming in C++, Python, or Java, use of version control tools such as Git or SVN, SQL or MySQL, data structures and algorithms, technology stack design, debugging and monitoring of production services, distributed systems, and the software development lifecycle. Experience with Swift or Objective-C is also expected.
