Role Summary
The Shift Technician will support guest comfort and hotel operations by responding quickly to repair needs, carrying out routine upkeep, and maintaining high standards of safety, hygiene, and cleanliness across the property.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to guest complaints and maintenance issues.
- Replace blown or damaged bulbs in guest corridor areas and fire staircases.
- Handle scheduled annual maintenance work in guest rooms.
- Keep an organized stock of frequently used spare parts for guest-room repairs in the workshop.
- Take full responsibility for executing the room care maintenance program, including repair work across guest-room systems such as air conditioning and plumbing.
- Repair carpets and wallpaper, and install new carpets when required.
- Perform painting tasks as needed.
- Understand and follow the hotel’s fire drill procedures, staff handbook, and all related rules.
- Follow health, safety, and hygiene requirements at all times.
- Ensure all plants and equipment are operated safely and that guests and staff remain protected.
- Follow rules related to guest interaction and access to guest rooms.
- Maintain the highest possible level of cleanliness in all areas and coordinate with other departments to support this standard.
- Complete daily assignment sheets and service requests.
- Attend morning and evening briefings, including the end-of-day briefing.
- Participate in monthly Engineering Department meetings.
- Join training sessions whenever requested.
- Perform additional duties assigned by foremen, supervisors, or other senior staff.
- Adopt and demonstrate the “Yes I Can” service attitude.
Requirements
- 2 to 3 years of experience in a maintenance or technical position, preferably within hospitality.
- Practical experience with hotel maintenance systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general repairs.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving environment and managing emergency maintenance tasks efficiently.
- Strong technical understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to diagnose faults and fix a variety of systems and equipment effectively.
- Knowledge of hotel safety standards and regulatory compliance.
- Good problem-solving and organizational abilities.
- Capability to use and repair a broad range of tools and machinery.
