About the Team
The Bidder platform handles more than 5 billion ad impression requests every day from publishers around the world. It evaluates whether an impression should be bought and estimates its value using advanced machine learning models before placing real-time bids. Several teams within the Bidder ecosystem continuously run experiments to improve bidding tactics, model quality, revenue, and profitability.
After an auction is won, the Ad Learning team selects the most relevant ad to show using signals such as publisher information, page context, and past performance. Through experimentation and data-led optimization, the team keeps improving ad selection and monetization outcomes.
As a Senior Data Analyst, you will operate at the intersection of business, analytics, and machine learning, supporting decisions that influence revenue and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and interpret operational, customer, and system-level metrics across the advertising ecosystem.
- Create and maintain reporting structures that turn data into actionable guidance for stakeholders and leadership.
- Work with large datasets to surface patterns, opportunities, and inefficiencies in the Bidder and Ad Learning funnels.
- Assess A/B test outcomes and recommend changes that improve model performance and revenue.
- Check revenue reporting across systems and confirm that profitability calculations remain accurate and dependable.
- Help build and maintain Profit & Loss reporting and broader business finance analysis.
- Combine data from different teams and systems into clear narratives that support strategic decisions.
- Investigate questions about trends, user behavior, event timing, and platform performance.
- Work with cross-functional partners to understand business challenges and propose analytical solutions.
- Use quantitative methods to evaluate possible model features and enhancements.
- Test business assumptions through rigorous statistical analysis.
- Maintain strong standards for data quality, normalization, governance, and integrity in reporting systems.
- Support mission-critical processes, production data updates, and reporting improvements.
- Contribute to scalable data solutions that can support business growth.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or another quantitative discipline is required.
- At least 2 years of experience in data analytics, business analytics, or a similar role.
- Advanced SQL skills, including the ability to write complex queries and work with large datasets.
- Practical experience using Python for analysis and automation.
- Exposure to AI-based tools such as Claude AI for improving analytical workflows.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability when handling complex data.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Comfort working on multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Experience with PySpark or Spark query writing.
- Solid knowledge of statistics and experimental design.
- Hands-on exposure to A/B testing frameworks and experimentation platforms.
- Background in AdTech, digital advertising, internet businesses, or other data-led technology environments.
- Experience with data governance, reporting systems, and dashboard development.
