Senior Accountant

Job Summary

We are looking for a meticulous and seasoned Senior Accountant to support the finance function. This role covers core daily accounting work such as posting supplier invoices, matching and clearing supplier statements, contributing to financial statements and audit activities, and preparing gross profit analyses. The position also involves reviewing the trial balance, assisting with supplier onboarding in line with internal procedures, and taking part in month-end close routines.

Key Responsibilities

• Support month-end close tasks, including journal entries, accrual postings, and related reporting work.
• Examine the trial balance each month, confirm that ledger accounts are reconciled correctly, and make required adjustments and accruals.
• Accurately enter supplier invoices and maintain complete supporting records and approvals.
• Carry out regular supplier statement reconciliations and work through any mismatches or outstanding items.
• Prepare and review monthly gross profit reports, ensuring the figures align with revenue and cost data.
• Verify supplier documentation during onboarding and ensure it meets company policy and procedure requirements.
• Ensure all accounting work follows applicable financial regulations and internal controls.
• Assist internal and external audit efforts by providing documents, explanations, and other requested support.

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. A professional qualification such as MBA, M.Com, CPA, CA, or an equivalent certification is preferred. The role requires 4–6 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in a similar position. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliation methods, and financial reporting is essential. Proficiency with accounting platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or comparable ERP systems, along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills, is important. The candidate should also demonstrate strong attention to detail, analytical ability, organization, communication skills, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-moving environment.
